The CH440 (also designated H4800) is a hydrocone-style secondary or tertiary cone crusher used in aggregate production, quarrying, mining and recycling. Around the crushing chamber, a number of support, sealing and filtration components keep the machine running between liner changes: the head nut and burn ring lock the mantle onto the cone head; the dust seal ring and oil seal ring separate the crushing chamber from the eccentric and lubrication spaces; the spider bushing and spider cap take the top bearing load of the main shaft; and the filter cartridges keep the lubrication oil clean. Neglecting these items is a common cause of premature bearing wear, oil contamination and unplanned downtime.

Component Notes

• Head Nut W/Burn Ring — clamps the mantle down on the cone head; the burn ring backs the nut so it cannot loosen under crushing load.
• Dust Seal Ring / Oil Seal Ring / O-Ring / Seal Ring — the sealing set that stops rock dust reaching the eccentric and stops lubrication oil escaping. Seal items should be replaced at every liner change rather than reused.
• Spider Bushing — the upper bearing surface that steadies the top of the main shaft inside the spider.
• Spider Cap — covers and retains the spider bore, keeping dust and water out of the top bearing.
• Main Shaft Sleeve — protects the main shaft where it passes through the sealing and bearing areas.
• Filter Cartridges and Spin-On Filter Element — protect the lubrication circuit; a clogged element raises oil temperature and accelerates wear on the eccentric and gears.
• Hydraulic Pump, Hydroset Relief Valve and Pressure Indicator — the hydroset circuit that sets and holds the closed-side setting: the pump moves the oil, the relief valve protects the circuit from over-pressure, and the pressure indicator (PIS 3097, 2.2 bar) shows the clamping pressure directly on the machine.

Scheduled maintenance and liner changes on CH440 / H4800 cone crushers in quarry, mining and recycling plants, plus the equivalent CH420 and CH430 filter elements where the same lubrication circuit is used. Both are cast in M7 high manganese steel and machined on the seating and clamping faces so the cone head and upper frame locate correctly, keeping the closed-side setting and chamber geometry within specification.

Material and Casting

• M7 high manganese steel — the M7 grade is a work-hardening austenitic manganese casting (Mn18Cr2 type) that develops a hard wearing surface under load while the core stays tough enough to pass tramp metal. The grade is stamped on each casting for traceability.
• Water-glass sand casting with controlled heat treatment for a uniform austenitic structure.
• Machined seating and clamping faces so the concave beds down square in the frame and the mantle seats correctly on the cone head.
• B-profile cavity geometry matched to the original chamber specification.

Applications

Suited to secondary and tertiary crushing of granite, basalt, limestone, river gravel, iron ore and construction and demolition waste. Replacing mantle and concave as a matched set avoids eccentric wear and keeps the setting stable through the wear cycle.
