Product Overview

This is a complete TIC composite wear parts set for the TRIO TP450 Cone Crusher, comprising one Bowl Liner (TRIO17023516) and one Mantle (TRIO17023515). Manufactured from high-manganese steel (Mn18Cr2) with embedded Titanium Carbide (TiC) ceramic composite inserts, these liners deliver 2–3 times the wear life of standard manganese steel parts. Direct-fit replacement — no modifications required.

What is TIC Composite Wear Material?

TIC (Titanium Carbide) composite technology represents a major advancement in crusher wear part design. Hard TiC ceramic particles are embedded into a Mn18Cr2 high-manganese steel matrix during the casting process. The result is a wear surface that combines the extreme hardness of ceramics (HV 2400+) with the toughness and impact resistance of manganese steel.

Bowl Liner & Mantle: Working Principle

In a cone crusher, the Mantle (inner moving cone) and the Bowl Liner (outer fixed concave) form the crushing chamber. As the mantle gyrates, rock is compressed and crushed between these two wear surfaces. Both parts are consumable — they wear progressively and must be replaced to maintain crushing efficiency and product gradation.

Material & Manufacturing Process

Base material: ASTM A128 Grade Mn18Cr2 — high-manganese austenitic steel with 18% Mn and 2% Cr, providing excellent work-hardening properties and impact toughness.

TIC inserts: Titanium Carbide (TiC) ceramic composite buttons are pre-placed in the mold at high-wear zones before pouring. During casting, the molten steel flows around and bonds with the TiC particles, creating a metallurgical bond between ceramic and steel.

Manufacturing route: Full-mold (lost-foam) casting or precision sand casting → controlled solidification → heat treatment (solution annealing + water quench) → rough and finish machining to OEM dimensions → final inspection.

• Chemical composition analysis — Spectrometer verification of Mn, Cr, C, Si, P, S content per ASTM A128
• Mechanical hardness testing — Brinell HB measurement at multiple points (target: HB 220–260 for steel matrix)
• Dimensional inspection — CMM / template gauging against OEM drawings for profile accuracy
• Ultrasonic testing (UT) — Internal defect detection per ASTM E114
• TIC insert verification — Visual and dimensional check of ceramic insert distribution and bond quality
• Surface finish inspection — Visual + dye penetrant testing for surface cracks or defects
• Weight verification — Final weight recorded and compared to nominal (ref. 1312 kg/set)

Packaging & Shipping

Each liner is individually packaged in heat-treated (ISPM-15 compliant) wooden crates with steel banding and anti-corrosion VCI film wrapping. Crates are designed to withstand international container shipping. Suitable for both LCL and FCL container loading. Shipping marks and product labels applied per customer requirements.
